A Weekend in Guatapé

I spent a weekend at Guatapé, one of the most popular touristic day trips from Medellin. It wasn’t my first time there but spending more than one day in the town made it feel like a new experience.
❤️ Little things I remember:
Getting sunburnt while kayaking on the lake
Trying Oblea for the first time in the rain (don’t come for me, but it’s not my favourite Colombian sweet!)
Being shocked by how big Piedra del Peñol was!
🤍 What I enjoyed:
Exploring the town during Feria de las Flores season. My friend and I saw them making Silletas (flower arrangements that people carry around!)
Walking to the base of la Piedra and having a cold beer.
🧡 Why this experience was different from last time:
I was in Guatapé for the first time in 2019, but I really don’t remember much except climbing la Piedra because I only spent a few hours in the town. This time, I spent a night and the experience was much more memorable. I had time to be in the moment and to enjoy more activities.

I can’t wait to go back to this cute town in a few weeks!
